Begin the path to nights filled with peaceful sleep
I can help you lead your precious young one, aged 0-4yrs, to master the delightful art of blissful, independent sleep.
WHAT IS PAEDIATRIC SLEEP CONSULTING
&
DO WE NEED IT?
Paediatric sleep consulting has many names; sleep training, coaching, counselling, schooling. Some say it is cruel or unnecessary and for selfish or lazy parents who don’t want to ‘deal’ with their baby. I simply do not agree with that.
I advocate sleep consulting as; creating and developing skills that will grant your young one the knowledge and ability for successful sleep times for their entire lives.
The misconception that sleep ‘training’ is ruthless and harsh has been tossed around for decades, let me absolutely assure you it is not. It is all about formulating and learning the methods, techniques and strategies to steer your young one to hold the necessary tools they need for glorious sleep. I see sleep support as a gift that you can reveal to them, not a punishment because you, the parent, want more sleep.
I will gently guide, support and instruct you as you encourage, lead and love your young one to learn how to independently fall asleep and stay asleep. All while you are right by their side, if you so choose. Never will you be asked or expected to do something you do not feel aligns with your values or your heart.
Sleep is 100% biologically required by all humans, all species almost, it is the when, the where and the how we all need and receive it that varies.
My primary focus, besides getting you all sleep, is for you to trust me enough to let me into your world. Learning all I can about your one-in-a-million family, your parenting style and of course getting acquainted with your very precious young one is essential for me to develop a personalised programme that is safe, effective and fitting for your lifestyle and your young one. Without trust, success can be limited.
I want you to know how privileged I feel to be chosen as the chaperon while you lead your young family to the world of exquisite sleep.

SLEEP DEPRIVATION IS TORTURE.
SLEEP DEPRIVATION IS REAL.
SLEEP DEPRIVATION CAN BE RESOLVED.
WHY SLEEP IS SO IMPORTANT
The importance of adequate sleep is not just about getting some peace and quiet, it is so much more than that. Developing good sleep habits while your young one is in their most crucial and fastest growth period is incredibly beneficial.
Top 5 reasons sleep is paramount
Cognitive Development -
the brain
Emotional Regulation -
moods/attitude
Physical Growth -
muscles/bones
Immune Health -
strengthens all health systems
Behaviour -
ability to focus
Sufficient sleep is essential for the overall development of individuals, encompassing physical, mental, and emotional aspects. It promotes the growth of robust muscles and bones in young individuals, enhances cognitive abilities, facilitates rational decision-making, and fosters well-rounded behavior.
Two extras close to my heart
Parents/caregivers Mental Health -
rested parent = clear parenting
Healing -
mind, body and soul, for all
A rested mind & soul = clear, conscious parenting
It is my firm conviction that sufficient sleep is necessary not only for the well-being of your young one but also for all caregivers, including parents, siblings, and grandparents. Allowing effective nurturing of the future generation of positive leaders.
Rest is best, for all.
HONEST TRUTHS
Two honest truths I like parents to be aware of is; one - sleep deprivation is no joke and two - teaching your young one to master sleep is a 'hold no prisoners' type operation. There will be protesting, tears, tantrums, big smiles, loads of cuddles and outstanding triumphs, from all of you so please strap in, the adventure awaits!
I believe that everyone deserves to relish in the newborn, infant and toddler phases, each is so magical but if you and your little one(s) are not getting enough sleep, it is nearly impossible to find the joy.
Believe me when I say your young one can 100% master the art of good, consolidated sleep, this can only equal a happier and healthier young one as well as a more rejuvenated caregiver that will treasure parenthood.
As the old saying goes 'it takes a village', and it does, it would be my honour to join your village as you model and lead your young one into the world of prized siestas.
I want you to know that you aren't alone, your baby is not broken and you are not a failure. Read that again.
I am here to support you.
I will be your cheerleader and your educator to creating a well rested young one and sometimes even more notable, a well rested you.

MY AGE GROUPS
-
NEWBORNS 0-3mths
Newborns need loads of love, cuddle and feeds.
Sleep direction for newborns is extremely tender and compassionate.
Guidance on awake times and only super, soft sleep techniques and methods are offered, a gentle rock and a dark room will go a long way to help a newborn sleep.
I wouldn’t consider or feel comfortable to use any strong focused sleep support before 10-12weeks of age.
-
INFANTS 4mths-12mths
Infants can be tricky little creatures, can't they?
In early infancy sleep patterns develop to be more 'adult like', implementing a good sleep design during this period has life long benefits.
It is often about this time that parents notice sleep shifting and mention ‘the four month re(pre)gression’. Do not fear, you will get through this, we can do it together.
Your young one will develop fast in these first 12mths so buckle up.
-
TODDLERS 13mths-4yrs
Toddlers, or as they like to be know - the mini adults of the universe, are usually very determined and engergic but also can be very fun.
For toddlers it is all about including them in the process while keeping a consistent, firm routine. Toddlers need boundaries that are balanced with play.
Clear and limited choices, no more than 2, is a very valuable tool for toddler parents.
Cot-to-bed transitions - doesn’t have to be as scary as it seems, there are ways to ease into this big milestone.

I was so overwhelmed with learning to feed that I thought sleeping would just be 'natural', boy were we wrong! Thank goodness we found Kate. After some supportive, knowledgable guidance, we are all were getting their much needed sleep. Everyone is happy!

Thank the heavens above we found Sleep Young One. We were honestly about to give in and just let him sleep in our bed forever. Now we have our own sleep spaces and we are all sleeping so much better. (Makes the occasional morning creep in that much more special).

I thought being exhausted was just part of motherhood but no-one should be THAT tired. I was dangerous, to myself, my little girl, the world. There is hope, there is light, there is the shut eye you need! Contact Kate, you will be thankful and trust me, you will be such better company to your partner, friends, family and your bub :)

We persisted with the routine and advice Kate gave us and it paid off. If it hadn't been for help, I think we would still be struggling today.
